eaders, friends,

I am pleased to share with you my book, New Testament Prophecy: Healthy, Mature Prophetic Ministry in the Church, 337 pages. Would you like to read it?

I have read many books and listened to many teachings on New Testament prophecy, from every point imaginable on the opinion spectrum. A few were phenomenal. Some were good, or good here and there. A few were a waste of time. However, in nearly every book or sermon series or group study, I came away wishing for more thoroughness and nuance on this or that aspect of the subject. I often found myself grimacing and asking,
But what about this? and But what about that? When I have had the opportunity to dialogue with authors, speakers, and leaders on the subject, once again, 80-90% of the time I came away feeling the answers lacked thoroughness and nuance.

Alongside my intense studies has been my boots-on-the-ground ministry. Sometimes what I was seeing and experiencing in ministry confirmed, precisely and powerfully, something I was studying, what this book said, what that sermon said, etc. Sometimes what I was seeing and experiencing in ministry brazenly contradicted something I was studying, what this book said, what that sermon said, etc. In other words, I came to discover how the Lord intended our learning to be both conceptual and experiential, and simultaneously so. After incalculable hours of prayerful, fasted, Spirit-sensitive study, and incalculable hours of gritty ministry in a variety of spiritual and theological settings, New Testament prophecy finally started making sense to me. New Testament prophecy Biblically and functionally. New Testament prophecy vis-a-vis Old Testament prophecy. New Testament prophecy in all its peacocky plumage of diverse expressions.

A book effervesced inside me. A big one. One that went further in thoroughness and nuance than I had ever read. Not to diminish anyone else's work, not at all, but to take the subject further into the filigree that so many genuine prophetic Christians are craving.

New Testament Prophecy
Healthy, Mature Prophetic Ministry in the Church

This book has had three iterations: 2003, 2015, and 2025. The first iteration was never meant to be a book. It was a three-ring binder full of notes on the subject of prophecy. However, the notes were coherently organized into subtopics and numbered, and so, interestingly and unintentionally, it resembled a book in its fetal stage.
In 2015 I decided to transfer all the notes to my JDM Warehouse site and articulate them into an online book, and not long after that, a PDF book.
Then, early last year (spring 2024), the Lord nudged my heart to better clarify, further detail, add new chapters and subchapters, add more personal stories and testimonies, to the book, creating the most recent version. The project took me over a year. For the first time since I organized my personal notes into a three-ring binder over twenty years ago, I finally sense deep down this is the book the Lord ultimately wanted me to produce.
Below are the introduction and chapter overview of the book. You may purchase the book for a gift of any amount. If you are unable to give, I will gladly send you the book for free. Instructions are at the bottom.

Introduction

Why do some Christians cold-shoulder, or straightforwardly oppose, New Testament prophecy? A few answers should be obvious. Think of Jim Jones and David Koresh in conjunction with prophecy and we are chilled with the sobering horror of its negative potential. Think of Charismaniacs abusing prophecy for more donations, or, as an extension of or cover for mental health issues. Think of the many people who have been hurt or misled or simply wasted precious time because of alleged prophecies. It is so much easier to not only shoot the messenger, but also shoot the messaging apparatus.
The contempt is not always directed at the extremes and abuses, though. Some Christians have been so thoroughly programmed by denominational dogma that they cannot fathom a God who transcends their enclave. Some Christians have been influenced by the spiritual and theological attitudes of family or loved ones. Some Christians fear supernatural spontaneity they cannot control. Living a formula-based, predictable, controllable Christian life is easier and safer, never threatening to expose their true spiritual level or emotional pain or other anxieties.
Finally, many Christians simply have confusions and honest questions about New Testament prophecy. Is it the same as Old Testament prophecy? Is it merely a synonym for powerful preaching? If the Holy Spirit prompts my heart to say something, is that prophecy? What if a prophecy is wrong? What if a prophecy is right? What if a Christian consistently prophesies correctly? What is prophecy’s relationship with the completed Bible? With the local church? How does one develop prophetically?
Beloved, this book will address these questions—and more you have not even considered. Whatever your impression, attitude, theology, experience, or lack of experience is regarding New Testament prophecy, this book can be for you if you will open your Bible and open your heart under an open heaven.
