CONNECTING 2008 AND 2009  2008 and 2009 are inseparable in God's earthly program. Neither year will make entire sense on its own. Though 2008 will be unqiue in certain ways, it will also be dependent on 2009 in others.

2009, NATIONAL DIFFICULTIES  In 2009 and beyond, America will face certain large-scale difficulties. Some cities and regions will be affected more, others less. Some of these challenges will begin and end in 2009, while others will extend beyond it. Other prophesiers have declared similar things, being much more specific and detailed than I will be.
     Consequently, in some ways 2008 is a year of grace to prepare for 2009 and beyond. The prayers of the faithful have delayed these difficulties and bought time. God loves people, especially His people, born-again Christians. He reveals certain things to us in advance to alert us and prepare us. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would show us things to come (Jn 16:13). Jehovah has always been a preemptive communicator. Those who have relegated God's voice to a thing of the past cut themselves off from a vital source of protective information and knowledge.
 
A YEAR OF REWARDS, JANUARY AND FEBRUARY  2008 will be a glorious year of rewards and compensation for the faithful. It will be a time for God's "trophy presentation". Each believer will be rewarded in 2008 in direct proportion to the tears, troubles, and trials they have faithfully endured for Christ in the past few seasons. It will be a time of great joy, happiness, laughter, celebration, and smiles. It will be an entrance into a "Sabbath-rest" in certain areas where struggle and labor has been intense. Many personal, much-anticipated promises from the Lord will be fulfilled in mass proportions and in very specific ways. Many will experience profound permanent victories over old enemies. Many will reap such extraordinary rewards that their lives will be altered forever. Some will have to relocate and move geographically to accommodate their rewards. Can you believe that? Watch, it will happen.
     Those who have not walked closely and faithfully with the Lord over the past seasons will have very little to no rewards this year. It will be a mediocre, even undesirable, year for many Christians who have been unfaithful.
     The 2008-rewards will come in two main forms (though there will be other types as well). First, God will grant the deepest desires and requests of many. They will weep with tears of relief and fulfillment as their dreams are finally granted. Secondly, God will grant never-seen-before opportunities to fulfill personal calling and destiny. Golden opportunities, doors, and gates that we never thought would open will open as God says, "Well done good and faithful servant, be in charge of ten cities. Do what you love to do, do what you do best, do what I've designed you to do. Enter the happiness of your Lord and fulfill your calling!"
 
JANUARY AND FEBRUARY, KEY MONTHS OF REWARD AND BLESSING  See Joel 2:23,24 (NKJV). Rainshowers of tremendous reward and blessing are coming to the faithful in the first months of January and February. There will be breakthroughs, overflows, outpourings, openings, surprises, favors, turnarounds, miracles, wonders, transformations, and opportunities in astounding measures. These rewards will spill into March and April as well, though the bulk of them will appear and begin in the first two months of the year.
 
2008's REWARDS FOR 2009  The rewards and blessings of 2008 are not only a recompense and celebration for faithfulness in the past, they are also a provision and preparation for 2009 and beyond. Joseph was rewarded for faithfulness with great abundance and wealth when he came to power in Egypt. However, this abundance was also a provision and preparation for the seven years to come of scarcity (Gen 41). In a similar way, the faithful will receive their abundant rewards this year, but a portion of this abundance is intended be a provision and preparation for whatever difficulties come to America in 2009 and beyond.
 
A YEAR OF PREPARATION IN THREE KEY AREAS  2008 is a pivotal year of preparation. It is a year of grace and kindness God has given us to reload for the near future. The Lord will urge significant preparations in three key areas: spiritual, relational, and financial/material.
 
SPIRITUAL PREPARATION  Now is the moment for Christians to wake up and prepare! Uncommited, lazy, apathetic, disobedient, and backslidden Christians...wake up! Remember what national challenge 9/11 presented to us. What would've or could've been different, before and after, if the many sluggish American Christians were spiritually sharp and filled with the Spirit? Keep this in mind: Scripture says God is NOT obligated to protect any Christian who is not walking faithfully with Him (Pr 15:10, Eze 3:20,21, 1Co 10:1-22). The umbrella of His protection is held by the handle of our faithfulness. Those Christians who enter 2009 spiritually sharp, obedient, and tuned into the Spirit will enjoy much protection and provision.
 
RELATIONAL PREPARATION  The Lord will form new relationships for us in 2008, and reinforce old ones that need maintenance and renewal. These relationships, associations, and alliances will become highly relevant beyond 2008. Many Christians' protection and provision in 2009 and beyond will come from these relationships! Perceive and follow God's hand reconstructing your relationships this year.
    
FINANCIAL/MATERIAL PREPARATION  The Lord is moving on us this year to prepare financially, materially, and practically. These preparations will be unique to each individual and family. Each one must perceive from the Spirit exactly what preparations need to be made and how. Many will experience a surplus of finances and resources this year. Be wise and hear the word of the Lord! Egypt enjoyed seven years of surplus, but a portion of this surplus was to be stored for the seven years of coming famine (Gen 41). So also, those blessed with a surplus this year must store and accumulate a significant portion for 2009 and beyond.
 
A YEAR TO GAIN IMPORTANT MOMENTUM  Similar to preparation, this year God is touching many with a special "momentum motivation". 2008 is critical to gain momentum and velocity in important, yet sluggish, areas! It will be much harder to do so in 2009 because the spiritual conditions will not be quite as favorable. These areas will be different for many Christians. Some need to build momentum in their sluggish relationship with God. Some need to build momentum in their pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. Some need to build momentum in their sluggish physical health, fitness, and nutrition. Some need to build momentum in key relationships. Some need to build momentum in new endeavors God has opened to them. Many need to build momentum in their ministries. This year God will move and motivate with higher intensity for Christians to get the ball rolling and rolling fast in important, yet sluggish, areas of their life.
 
A YEAR TO BE ESTABLISHED IN THE NEW THING  Many began a new thing in the final quarter of last year (October-December)--this year you will be established in that new thing. Your legs have been wobbly and unsure in the new thing; truly it has been a new thing. You've had trouble finding your footing, your groove, your rhythm. You've struggled to get "settled in". This year, the Lord will help you in key ways to do just that. Every crooked place will be made straight and every rough place will be made smooth so you can walk on level solid ground on this new path (Isa 40:3,4). Forget the uncertainty and anxiety; this year you will be comfortable and confident in the new thing, established in your newly conquered land (Pr 12:3, Isa 54:14).
 
A YEAR OF OPENINGS  2008 is a year of openings of all types...open windows, open doors, open gates, open eyes, open ears, open minds, open hearts, open heaven. What has been closed will open this year. What has been closed to you? Where have you been trying to enter? What have you been trying to access? God? His Word? A person? An opportunity? This is a year of openings...God will open heaven this year for openings of all types on earth. As another prophesier declared, "That which you could not obtain, you will obtain. That which you could not perform, you will perform." It will be opened to you.
 
A YEAR OF MAJOR CHANGES A lot will be rearranged and restructured in 2008. It will be a year of significant changes, of all types and on all levels. There will be an unusual endowment of divine grace specifically for change. Those that have struggled to change certain character sins, deficiences, patterns, and cycles will see transformation this year, especially in the first four months (January-April). Major structural changes and rearrangements will happen in government and politics, unnerving some, rejoicing others. Watch the news and witness certain world governments topple, tumble, and fall this year. Many families will see remarkable positive changes as the Spirit blows in a fresh breeze of His presence. A blessing will descend upon fathers to arise and lead their families in a new way...into a Promised Land. Major changes of all types and shapes are coming this year.
 
CHANGES IN AMERICAN CHRISTIANITY  Churches of all denominations will see quite a bit of alteration, modification, and reorganization. Because of this, there will be much movement of people from one denomination to another, one church to another. Attendance and membership will fluctuate greatly in some places, hindering congregation-building. However, this is necessary for future congregational development--pieces must be moved out, pieces must be moved in. This is also necessary because it is God's round-about way of unifying His church, especially for the years to come. Pastors, don't resist the rearrangement, this must happen! It is the Lord's work, not the enemy.  
     The "relationship-centered, Spirit-filled church" will gain great headway, victories, and momentum this year over the "religious, legalistic, form-but-no power" segment of Christianity. God is cleaning His house of religious and legalistic spirits. Many churches will close that need to. Many leaders will step down or be removed, to be replaced by authentic, Spirit-filled, passionate leaders. Many churches wavering between relationship and religion will break through into relationship with her First Love for the first time. Legalism will suffer a tremendous blow this year as leaders speak boldly against it in mass. Prayer and fasting groups, teams, pockets, and events will pop up in greater numbers everywhere, further driving the stake into religion/legalism. Many religious structures within Christianity that oppose the Spirit's move, presence, and voice will crumble or be restructured altogether.
     "Worship wars" will die down and start to end this year. The American church has seen much internal conflict in this area, consequently, she has grown quite a bit concerning the true meaning of worship. Worship will increase and become more pure in American Christianity this year.
 
AMERICAN CHRISTIAN MUSIC  American Christian music will be greatly anointed, favored, and elevated by the Lord this year in strategic ways. He will use it as a key aspect in His strategy to both change and unify the church on a large scale. Denominations of all shades will rally harmoniously around the heavenly sounds and words coming from certain American Christian songs. Rifts and separations within the body will be mended and restored because of them. Key discussions and dialogues will open up because of them. Songs of colossal spiritual magnitude and global influence will appear, similar to that of "Shout to the Lord" and "Days of Elijah". Christian musicians, arise and take your land! This is your year!    
 
NEW WAYS FOR NEW DAYS  This year not only signifies new days on God's calendar, it also signifies new ways. There will be many changes in strategy, approach, procedure, and methodology. God is granting many "new ways" this year. New ways to overcome in our personal life...new ways to have fulfilling relationships...new ways to minister effectively...new ways to succeed at our jobs...new ways to create financial capability...new ways to remain joyful. As we seek the Lord, we will experience unusual streams of thought-flow streaming in new strategies to flourish.
 
A YEAR OF NEW PROPHETIC VOICES AND FACES  This year many new, unrecognized prophetic voices and faces will emerge. The Lord is unveiling and promoting an entirely fresh batch of prophesiers who have spiritually graduated. Not one or two, but an entire crop will be given public (or more public) ministries. They are an emerging remnant, possessing unusually high levels of personal maturity and prophetic authenticity. They will advance into broader spheres of influence, authority, and credibility. Like John the Baptist, their preparatory solitude in the desert is over; now they will be "revealed to Israel" (Lk 1:80).
     This will happen in all the denominations, even in ones that have shunned or distanced from prophetic ministry. These denominations will not refer to them specifically as "prophets" or "prophetic", but they will admit--because of their verbal power, relevancy, and accuracy--that God has unusually anointed their words.
 
CHANGING OF THE GUARD  Some of the present prophetic voices and faces will begin to be replaced by this new batch this year. This is because many of these voices have lost prophetic authenticity and objectivity. Some have diluted the pure word of the Lord with worldly self-help philosophies. Some have diluted the pure word of the Lord with materialistic extremism. Some have diluted the pure word of the Lord with critical and condemning overtones and wording; they have used their prophetic anointing to punish others for personal reasons. Many existing prophetic voices have become diluted for a variety of reasons.
     The Lord is not throwing these voices away, but He is shifting His eye of favor upon a newer and purer batch, a batch that has been developed with the strictest and severest preparation. Some of these existing voices will maintain their public ministries, yet they will suffer a noticeable loss of power, blessing, credibility, and constituency. Some will lose their ministries altogether, as God exposes secret agendas and sensitive information. Some will wisely observe all these things, take it to heart, repent, restore their personal and prophetic purity, and be exalted to higher levels than before--they will be known as "fathers" and "mothers" of prophecy. God will reward their humility.
 
NEW PROPHETIC VOICES AND 2009  This new prophetic batch will find their ultimate purpose in 2009 and beyond. America and the American Church will need an unprecedented level of prophetic precision for the coming days. She will need unusually specific, unusually relevant, unusually timely, and unusually practical prophetic words. These emerging prophesiers have been trained and prepared in the most unique of conditions to meet this need fully. They will have many joyful "full circle" moments in 2009 and beyond as they understand why they had to endure such harsh preparations.
 
A YEAR TO POSSESS THE HIGH PLACES  2008 is a year to possess the high places. The high places refer to positions of leadership and authority. There are high places in government, education, media, sports, business, and every sphere of society. Whoever occupies the high place sets the spiritual direction of that entire sphere! God has commanded--yes, commanded--His people to possess and occupy the high places. We are the head, not the tail; above, not beneath (Deu 28:13). We are kings and priests on the earth, not helpless destitutes (Rev 1:6 NKJV). We are the city on the highest hill that lights the whole world (Mt 5:14). We are the Lord's house on the highest mountain that all nations will run to (Isa 2:2).  
     This year, especially the first half (January-June), there will be leadership openings everywhere for Christians to step up into the high places of authority. Watch! Mediocre and ungodly leaders will be vacated in mass. Some will resign, some will retire, some will accept other jobs, some will be forcibly removed, some will fall sick, some will pass on. Christians, watch! Watch! Watch! Watch! This is your sunrise opportunity to possess the high place and set a new kingdom direction in that sphere. This year a crucial anointing is being outpoured for Christians to pursue, conquer, possess, and occupy places of authority and rule.
 
POSSESSING THE HIGH PLACES AND 2009  Our possessing the high places in 2008 is one of God's strategies to protect and provide for His people in 2009 and beyond. During a time of national difficulty, who do you want making the decisions...a capable, Spirit-filled Christian or a capable unbeliever? Who will support and look after God's people and God's agenda during a crisis? Remember Esther! God's people were delivered from total extermination because she possessed the high place as queen of Persia. Remember Joseph! God's people were delivered from famine because he possessed the high place as prime minister of Egypt. What high place is the Lord calling you to possess this year?
     In difficult days to come, many American Christians will be delivered and blessed because of high places that were possessed by fellow Christians in 2008. It is not that God is uncaring toward the unsaved; He is concerned for all (Jnh 4:11). Rather, His priority is His people first. Wait and watch for openings in high places this year (especially January-June); then go, possess and occupy.
 
A YEAR OF VINDICATION FOR FALLEN MINISTRIES  2008 is the year the Lord has determined to vindicate and re-honor certain ministries that have suffered past falls and failures, on a small and large scale. He has supervised their restoration, rectification, and renewal, and this year they will be rewarded publicly. Many bad feelings and antagonism toward these ministries will be washed away, and replaced with gratitude that God can restore the fallen as He does. God will do for these as He did for Manasseh (2Chr 33). In Scripture, circumcision took place on the eigth (8th) day, and is related to rolling away reproach (Jsh 5:1-9). So also, in this year 2008 many past-fallen ministries will see their shame cut and rolled away. It will be a very good year for humble ministries seeking public redemption.
 
VINDICATION OF FALLEN MINISTRIES AND 2009  The Lord is vindicating many fallen ministries this year for specific reasons. One is to reward their humility and rectification, since this is God's year of reward. The second reason pertains to 2009. God is raising the credibility and authority of His American church in preparation for the difficulties of 2009 and beyond--this includes the public redemption of His fallen ministries. He wants His American church to enter 2009 with new degrees of credibility.
 
DEGREES OF HEALING FOR ALZHEIMERS This year many will see their saved loved ones with Alzheimers experience degrees of healing and memory-restoration. The Lord is saying: "I am restoring the memories of my people. I have heard the prayers of my people concerning their loved ones with Alzheimers. I am restoring key memories that will restore intimacy with their afflicted ones."
 
HEALING FOR RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME This year many with Restless Leg Syndrome will be healed. Psalm 127:2, "...He gives His beloved sleep". Proverbs 3:24, "...you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet." The Lord has heard the prayers, seen the sleepless nights, and felt the pain. There is an open heaven this year for the healing of Restless Leg Syndrome.
 
CANADA...A GREAT MOVE OF GOD In 2008, Canada will see remarkable and widespread movements of God's presence and power. What she has experienced thus far has only been to condition her to the supernatural. This year, the divine volume and intensity will be increased. Many leaders will say, "What is this new blessing that has come to our land? Surely the Lord has come to us with an awesome visitation!" Canada, prepare for the Glory of the Lord!
 
CANADA, USA, AND 2009  Interestingly, this blessing that is coming to Canada will also bless the USA. In 2009 and beyond, many Americans will flee to Canada, some to relocate permanently, some only temporarily. Just as the Bible contained "cities of refuge", Canada will be a "nation of refuge" for many Americans. Just as Elimelech fled to Moab (Ru 1:1,2), Joseph and Mary fled to Egypt (Mt 2:13-15), David fled to Philistia (1Sam 29:1-3), so also the days are coming in 2009 and beyond when Americans and American Christians will flee to Canada. There they will enter a cloud of Glory, be transformed, and bring back to America what they attained.
 
CARIBBEAN ISLANDS...A GREAT MOVE OF GOD  In 2008, the Caribbean Islands will also see remarkable and widespread movements of God's presence and power. The result will be that many new ministry training centers will be opened to develop and train new converts into leaders and ministers. A great amount of financial resources will be sent to the islands for kingdom purposes. Even the educational systems will improve because of God's move.
 
ARUBA  Aruba will be in the news once again, but this time because of God's move and the positive changes that will enhance the island. The Lord will wipe away her shame, and bring in a fresh blessing of His favor to the people. His heart is moved with profound compassion and desire for her. He longs to favor her and show His love to her this year in an unusual way. His heart has something special and unique for Aruba! God has scheduled many good things ahead for Aruba. 
 
THE CARIBBEAN ISLANDS, USA, AND 2009  The Lord will use the islands in a very similar way as Canada. In 2009 and beyond, many Americans and American Christians will relocate there. Some will relocate permanently as they sense destiny and calling to develop the kingdom there. Some will stay only temporarily. The Glory of the Lord will cover the islands, and the Americans who go there will be enraptured in it. They will see amazing supernatural things. They will be changed forever. The Lord will kiss the islands and those who go there.
 
"Exalt the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, in the islands of the sea...in his law the islands will put their hope...sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them...let them give glory to the LORD and proclaim his praise in the islands...listen to me, you islands...the islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm...surely the islands look to me."       --Isaiah 24:15, 42:4,10,12, 49:1, 51:5, 60:9 (NIV)

Pathetic Prophetic

Prophetic Ministry in 2009

     In 2009 and beyond, prophecy will begin to have much more serious levels of importance in western Christianity than in previous generations. Consequently, God is working intricately and intensely in many prophetic hearts to ready them for the coming years. 2008 has been one of many rewards for many Christians. However, for developing prophets, these rewards have been juxtaposed by ongoing deserts and gut-wrenching transformations. God is manufacturing a razor-sharp prophetic community to administer key graces to America and western society in the coming years.
     There is a degree of prophetic maturity and credibility that must be for this to happen. I see four ways in which the Lord is moving prophecy from pathetic to truly prophetic. 

(1) the imagination-revelation mix

     Ezekiel 13 harshly condemns the false prophets of Ezekiel's day. Their defect? Proclaiming their own imaginations as the word of the Lord. Verse 2 (and 17) says they "prophesy out of their own imagination" and verse 3 says they "follow their own spirit".
     Thankfully, New Testament prophecy has a slightly different tapestry than Old prophecy. Nevertheless, some of the same challenges remain. Prophets today are also in need of sifting and separating imagination from revelation. Less experienced prophesiers too readily accept the imagination's luminations as revelation. This is partly due to sheer inexperience, partly due to an impulsive Boanerges complex (Mk 3:17) that often marks developing prophets.  
     The imagination is the womb of creativity. It is our God-given likeness. With it we have created skyscrapers, theme parks, and almost everything we see. The imagination is just as capable of luminating us with ideas and impressions as the Holy Spirit is. In fact, imagination is something many Christians have depreciated and neglected. Nevertheless, distinguishing imagination from revelation is an aptitude every mature prophet has mastered.  
     LEAVING BABYHOOD:  Imagination typically reflects personality and environment, and therefore, contains such overtones and undercurrents. The false prophets of Ezekiel's day created lying visions of peace with their hyper-active imaginations (Eze 13). The people's itch for soothing prophecies only encouraged that imaginatory flow. We must rigorously address our emotional life to ensure our psychosocial issues do not overactivate our imagination and confuse us.   
     Revelation is typically foreign to our personal thought-patterns. It contains divine spins, angles, or wordings that are slightly different than ours. At times, it may even be totally opposite to our personality, circumstances, sound advice, or common sense. Imaginatory flow often seems like and sounds like the imaginator and his surroundings, while revelatory flow often has a distinctly foreign quality.
     Even with such differences, the two phenomena can sometimes still be confused. For, at times, the Holy Spirit will inject His revelations into our consciousness with amazing subtlety. When we are unsure, the wise route is to wait/look for subsequent confirmations from other sources. Job 33:14(NIV) is one of the best scriptures pertaining to this: For God does speak--now one way, now another--though man may not perceive it. He will authenticate Himself by sending the same message in different ways.
     Learn to separate and authenticate what is revelation and what is imagination. Have the temperance to wait it out if necessary. John the Baptist spent years in desert solitude before ever uttering a word. He had to determine whether Isaiah 40:3 really pertained to him or if it was his ambitious imagination making it all up. Great prophets speak accurately because they speak selectively. 

(2) sensationalism

     Many prophesiers expose their own babyhood through sensationalism. Insecurity and attention-cravings, identity crises and self-image concerns, are all at the root of melodramatic ministries. This does not mean these ministries are not genuine and used by God, but it does mean they are not yet mature and are forfeiting greater favor and power.
     Emotion is vital to our spirituality. It cannot be amputated from the whole of our Christian experience, as some would imply. We are called to passion, zeal, and fervor (Ro 12:11), to weeping, mourning, and repenting (Jas 4:9,10), to dancing, celebrating, and shouting (Ps 150). Sometimes prophets need to illustrate their words graphically (Ac 21:10,11), and sometimes their words are accompanied by overwhelming emotion (Jer 20:8,9). This is basic Christianity and prophetic ministry. An emotionless Christianity or ministry is just as dysfunctional as an emotionless person.
     What is not biblical, though, is manipulating a crowd's emotions through catchy gimmicks and tricks, forced and fabricated manifestations, pushing people down through force when praying for them, flaunting possessions to convey net-worth as equal to self-worth, or other ministry antics that are showy, theatrical, and egocentric. Is God a circus owner that He calls clowns as His messengers?    
     LEAVING BABYHOOD:  Paul tells us what our ministry substance should be (2Co 4:2): We have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
     In 1Thessalonians 2:3-6 he addresses the same matter: For the appeal we make does not spring from error or impure motives, nor are we trying to trick you...we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed--God is our witness. We were not looking for praise from men, not from you or anyone else.   
     Listen to Paul! Friends, it's long past due we checked our egos, not at the door, but first thing every morning before the Lord and before our closest loved ones. It's long past due we chastised our egos and embraced lifelong humility. It's long past due we crucified our craving to be noticed and remembered. It's long past due we Christened our struggling self-image, and learned to minister with a down-to-earth authenticity. Friends, we must walk away from sensational antics to minister in even higher levels of prophetic precision and power. Great prophets don't need side-shows, they have the hand of God dropping bombs of blessing in and through them. 

(3) prophetic individuation

     Many prophetic words I hear/read are not at all prophetic, they are pathetic. They are simply a regurgitation of the current spiritual fad. The language, concepts, and catch-phrases are all similar. If you've heard one you've heard 'em all. These "prophecies" typically appeal to younger, ignorant, hurting, or bored Christians. They have a high flesh-mixture or imagination-mixture diluting or clogging the authentic word.
     Authentic prophecies should complement or complete one another, but should also possess unique nuances. Prophets should be just as original and individual as Agabus was different from Judas and Silas. Prophetic individuation must and will flesh out in greater ways this final half of 2008.
     LEAVING BABYHOOD:  Individuation means "the quality of being individual, distinct, unique, or original". The prophet's wilderness creates this individuation, but the process can be sped up by doing some homework to find one's own truest prophetic voices.
     The first thing that must be peeled away is the wanna-be facade. Many developing prophets go through a phase where they try to be a great prophet. They force or fabricate prophetic words, or annoyingly attribute every good thought to the Holy Spirit (as if He were a chatterbox). They push themselves on others, albeit subtly, and continually assert their gift. These wanna-be's get really weird really fast.
     No great prophet ever tried to be a great prophet. He or she simply loved God with unprecedented romance and matured in Christlike character. God, in turn, lavished gifts and rewards all over that prophet. Wanna-be prophets need to lay down the prophetic obsession and rediscover the greatest commandments.
     Once a prophet does this, he will find himself in Christ. He will find his truest identity and design. He will find all the nooks and crannies of his own prophetic personality. He will no longer hop on the current spiritual bandwagon, but he will find his own prophetic voice that creates fresh movements of all kinds wherever his voice is heard.

     The more I interact with the church, the more I realize how much we need education concerning New Testament prophecy. I am not referring only to Christians within prophecy-practicing circles, but to all subcultures within Christianity. Because my ministry is cross-denominational, I get a neat panoramic view of what's happening all across God's church. And, I come across many Christians who despise or fear prophecy, not necessarily because they do not believe in it, but because they feel that we, prophecy practitioners, have failed to educate and explain legitimately what we're doing and why.
     Many critics of contemporary prophecy are NOT religious spirits. They are solid Christians asking solid questions that demand solid answers. For example, how and why are Old Testament and New Testament prophecy different? What is the relationship between Scripture and prophecy...isn't there a conflict of authority? What should be done to prophets who "miss it"? What are the safeguards so prophecy does not harm or mislead? Does prophecy even matter? 
     Some books have been written to answer these and other questions (Wayne Grudem, Michael Sullivant), but there needs to be much much more until the church (all of it) is flooded with more than enough educational tools.
     LEAVING BABYHOOD:  We can begin by educating our constituencies. In my case, the Lord led me to develop a website that comprehensively addresses every possible aspect of New Testament prophecy. The website is www.jdmprophecy.com. It is still developing, but some of the pages are finished. I encourage you to check it out. More resources are in the works from JDM.
     We need to teach and explain well guys. Take the time. Back up and slow down. Educate the people you prophesy to, individually and corporately. Help them understand prophecy, how it should be tested and prayed through. Explain its blessings and benefits, as well as its limitations and shortcomings. Explain why prophecy is necessary, even amidst a completed Bible. Explain the supremacy of Scripture, even amidst prophetic ministry. As prophecy moves up to a better place in 2009 and beyond, we must be prepared to explain and educate excellently concerning all aspects of New Testament prophecy.

The Lord says: "How can I show you my love?"

"Why do you look so sad? Come on, come to me now. Come and open yourself to me. What can you hide from me? Do I not know the depths of your heart? Do I not dwell inside you? Come and open to me. Nothing you express will make me love you less. Let your tears run like a river. Cry and be healed. Acquaint yourself with the pain you carry, for it is time to heal your heart! Is the darkside a stranger to me? Come in and we will walk together. Invite me into your pain, take me into your darkest hour, and watch me blow the festering boils into smooth skin again. Have you not carried these welts long enough?

"You have asked me, 'What do you want Lord?' I want one moment. One moment for you to be brave and naked at my side. My beloved, undress yourself of pretentious garments, and let my soothing gaze fall upon your bare soul. Have I not been made full of appearances? Is it appearances that I look upon with desire? Give me one moment with the gem of your soul. I look for something special, deeply sacred, in your eyes. If you give me this moment, you will hear me say it can be forever.

"Will you never understand me? How long must I wait for you? But I know you. This is all you wanted, something special, deeply sacred, in my eyes too. Greet me with the eyes of a little one. Greet me with vulnerable eyes. What more have I to do with false lovers? I am the Lover to be brave at your side. Your happiness is buried in me. Come, burrow into my love and we'll be happy as one. I will make your eyes shine. I will make you strong. You will radiate with the excellency of my love. No longer will the oil of your face dry up. No longer will the perfumes of my presence disappear from your gown.

"Can you put your hand in mine? I know it is small, but mine is big, and able to scoop every part of you into my palm. You will nestle your head comfortably in the grooves created by the nails. Is my love a crime that I suffered a criminal's death for you? Would you commit the same crime and love me in such a way? Would you be forsaken as a criminal to be favored in my eyes?

"How can I show my love to you? Whatever you ask for, that is what I will be! Am I I AM? Surely I AM! I will be the sea in your desert. I will be the bread in your hunger. If you thirst, thirst for me. If you hunger, hunger for me. Then you shall not want. I will open your mouth and fill it with good things. You will lack nothing, and I will withhold nothing. You will see fullness of joy with eternal pleasures beside. I will rouse myself, even at midnight, and give you as much bread as you ask for. Whatever you ask for, that is what I will be, for from me, through me, and to me are all things. I am the Alpha and Omega of your fulfillment.

"When they laughed as you cried, I did not laugh. When they lied, I provided the truth. When they forsook you, I stood by. When they trampled your dreams, I made them come true. When they ladened you down, I gave you wings. When your tears washed my feet, I gave you joy. The wrongs? How many wrongs have I made right for you? O that you would count them before me! When you stumbled in weakness, I strengthened your bones. Did I not preserve your life? When you could not reach, I lifted you with my precious wind. Even your enemies marveled as you rose high above their heads. When you were mute with fear, I put my voice in yours. When you could not believe, I gave you faith from on high. I will be your stepping stone when you need to advance, yet I will be your stumbling block when you need to be brought low before me. Am I not the sun in your sky? Will I not tan you and leave my mark on you for all to see?

"But now my Spirit is grieved as some turn away. But I will not cast these off. My love will lead you back to my arms, little lamb. In time we will be together again, for you belong in my arms! One day soon you will look for me and find me. I will hear your cries again, and you will say how you miss me. I know rebellion is not in your heart, but a tender confusion about my ways. Soon you will find green pasture and lush surroundings to rest your soul. You will find the pathway back as my love follows you even to the uttermost parts, even to the place of filth where sows wallow. As sure as the stars shine for my approval, so also the glory inside you will always search for its Maker."

Movies, Movie Theatres, & Ministry  

M & M & M Has Landed
     The Trinity is forming a trinity between movies, movie theatres, and ministry: M & M & M. Many will apply this divine triad in their sphere, and it will greatly increase their ministry's fruitfulness. M & M & M has already landed from Heaven, and will continue expanding.
     The release of The Passion of the Christ signified Heaven's inauguration of M & M & M. Basically, for a few hours, church ministry was moved to a movie theatre, involved a movie, and provided on-the-spot invitations to Christ (with many salvations resulting). Churches even bought out entire showtimes, with pastors and counselors present, to formally morph the movie experience into a kingdom experience. See and hear saints! The Passion's release, and the church's excellent exploitation of it, signified Heaven's M & M & M strategy had officially landed.  
 
Movies
     Movies could be the greatest open door we have into people's hearts. Everybody watches movies. For 120 minutes, viewers can process a storyline and its suggestions in the privacy of their own heart. Movies are safe. People know this, and often bury themselves in the two-hour world the movie creates. On a more serious level, some watch movies specifically for guidance and solutions. The church may seem too unfamiliar, a counselor may seem too threatening, a friend may be safe but unhelpful, but a good movie might do it. Why? Because most people realize intelligent people make movies. Their scripts often contain helpful ideas and insights. Also, some feel that movie personalities somehow have answers us non-celebrities don't. It's the whole pedestal phenomenon. 
     God, being the Master Strategist He is, loves to meet people where they're at. Just like He met the lepers in their caves, or the Pharisees in their temple courts, or Matthew in his tax collector's booth, He will meet the movie-watchers in their movies. Godly films will increase, wrapping their divine message in kingdom ideas and storylines. Just as God anointed Moses' rod, Elisha's bones, Peter's shadow, Paul's handkerchiefs, so He will anoint these movies. Godly filmmakers will increase, possessing a visionary prowess to create movies that answer many silent questions. Secular Hollywood will stumble over its righteous competitor. It will be hostile and fight, but God's movies will go on changing lives.
     Churches will take these movies and run with them! And they should. They will incorporate them into services and ministries. Some churches will boom. Some will struggle, though, with the old-new tension. Leaders and churches that overcome and cross into the new will lead their flocks into a broad place. Not only will numerical growth happen, but people will hunger to give financially in favor of M & M & M.
     Some leaders will have their egos bruised, asking "Is my preaching not good enough? Was I not able to make this ministry grow without movies, movie clips, and movie ministries?" These will be tested and humbled. Certainly God will always use teaching and preaching--always. Many scriptures make this certain: 1Timothy 4:13,14, 2Timothy 3:16-4:2. However, God will use absolutely anything to meet people where they're at, touch them, and open them to where they can finally embrace teaching, preaching, counseling, prophesying, and other direct forms of discipleship.
 
Movie Theatres
     Wealthy Christians and churches will purchase entire movie theatres, operative and abandoned, and turn them into kingdom centers! Can you believe it? How awesome this will be! What a glorious work that will result. Smaller churches and church plants will "rent" a theatre room at low costs and have church there. Some churches will possess all the rooms, dividing them up among their various ministries. Some churches will rent a theatre room specifically for a "movie ministry". Some will rent occasionally for certain programs and projects. Even more things than these will happen. How incredible this is. God is brilliant friends! These once-theatres will become bustling kingdom centers, helping Christians and churches left and right.
     Why movie theatres? First, and most importantly, God will use these kingdom centers to force interaction between different Christian groups. He is unifying His church, and this is one way He is "tricking" different leaders and churches into intersection and fellowship. Second, these movie theatres already possess ideal seating, multiple rooms, and kitchens. God made the wicked do the hard work that Christians would plunder! Instead of spending time, energy, and money on building a church building and going through the numerous hassles, God will lead many to simply purchase these theatres, move in, and get right on to kingdom business. They will come across great deals. Third, as America moves into difficult times in 2009 and beyond, these kingdom centers will use their kitchens and space to feed and care for Christians first, the lost second. In more than one way will these centers be places of refuge and provision for the church. God is looking ahead!
     Some even now are contemplating purchasing an operative or abandoned movie theatre. The Lord speaks, saying, "Purchase! My kingdom has need of your intention." Some are contemplating some other idea related to M & M & M. Again the Lord speaks, saying, "Advance! Possess this land I've set before you. How long will you wait?"
 
Movies, Movie Theatres, & Ministry...M & M & M
     M & M & M landed with The Passion. It will be increasing. It will be accelerating. God is sanctifying this trinity for His purpose. The triad is coming together. The triangle is forming to triangulate His will!

God says: "I want to take you to the other side"

"I want to take you to the other side. Let us cross over now."
     If you have sorrow, the Lord now wants to take you to the other side: laughter. If you have confusion, He now wants to take you to the other side: wisdom. If you are unfulfilled in a certain area...satisfaction. If you are lonely...intimacy with God or a God-sent person. If you are wounded...whole. If you are barren...fruitful and productive. If you are under...on top. If you are last...first. If you are lacking...supply. Wherever you are, whatever your circumstance, the Lord says, "I want to take you to the other side. Let us cross over now." Luke 8:22.
 
Find the boat
     The disciples needed a boat to carry them across to the other side of the lake (Lk 8:22). A boat is a carrier or transporter. We also need a boat. Our boat is whatever God will use to take us to our personal other-side. It could be a person, opportunity, meeting, ability, idea, or anything. The boat may or may not look exactly like we expect, but if it is truly God's way of getting us across, forget how it looks or feels and get in. Many miss their other-side blessing because they miss the boat God has set before them to carry them there.
 
Jesus "falls asleep" while the storm rages
     The disciples set sail to cross over. Everything seems fine, they'll be at the other side in no time--until Jesus falls asleep and a furious storm shows up (v23). When we correctly identify our boat and get in to cross over, we can be sure Jesus will "fall asleep", seemingly disappear, and a storm will rise. We will question ourselves, and God, saying, Did I get in the right boat? Why is God "asleep"? Why is He so silent? Am I going to die in this storm? I should've stayed on this side!
 
Wake the Lord up!
     The disciples knew they had only one solution. They wake up Jesus with their fearful pleas, who in response dissipates the storm (v24). Now, we know God as spirit never slumbers nor sleeps (Ps 121:3,4). Jesus' untimely little nap is simply a picture of when God appears to be sleeping during our personal storms. The psalmist understood this word-play (Ps 78:65).
     Why does God do this? Why does He seemingly disappear and "take naps" when we need Him most? It's simple: He wants to teach us the authority and power we have in prayer to move and wake Him! Every born-again Christian has this prayer-authority. However, since many Christians are sluggish in prayer, God allows a storm and takes a nap...and waits. It is kind of like He is saying, "Okay, wake me up when you realize you need me and how powerful your prayers can be."
     Like a lover longing to be beckoned by the beloved, the Lord wants to be sought, stirred, beckoned, and awakened by His bride. It is beautiful, even mysterious, that God withdraws only to be found, sleeps only to be wakened. Instead of trying to manage the storm or control the storm or fix the storm or talk about the storm...pray and wake up your God!
 
Gadara, the other side
     When the disciples reached the other side at Gadara, or place of the Gadarenes, they were immediately met by demonized men (Lk 8:26, Mt 8:28). Jesus delivered them. This tells us two things.
     First, Gadarenes means "reward at the end". Our other-side, our Gadara, is a type of personal reward and blessing for crossing over with the Lord. It is where a lacking or deficient part of our life has been filled. Second, Jesus was immediately met by demonized men needing deliverance. Immediately upon reaching the other side, God will send us captives to deliver also. We cannot give what we do not have, but when we reach Gadara, we have it. Because we are now joyful, we can deliver the depressed. Or because we are now wise, we can deliver the confused. Or because we are now financially capable, we can deliver the lacking. Or because we are now powerful in prayer, we can deliver the demonized and move mountains. God's intention has always been to evolve personal blessing into personal ministry.
 
                   "I want to take you to the other side. Let us now cross over."

America's Economy

Please read first...

     The Bible says "we know in part and prophesy in part" (1Co 13:9). The prophetic word I give you today is simply a part, piece, or fragment of God's American program. I am prophesying about a season that is fast approaching. However, this word does not include anything outside this particular season I have been shown. This is why God reveals His secrets to the prophets (plural, Am 3:7), and why we should hear from two or three prophets (plural, 1Co 14:29). The prophetic plurality paints a full picture.
     Genuine prophetic voices will never contradict each other, but they may refer to different seasons or fragments of God's program, and therefore seem contradictory on the surface. The key to interpreting prophecy, then, is to patiently compare a variety of credible prophetic words, piecing them together like a puzzle with much prayer, fasting, and Bible study. It is our personal responsibility to seek personal confirmation and understanding from the Lord ourselves (1Co 14:29, 1Jn 4:1-6). Until the picture becomes clear and complete, we should continue to love the Lord incredibly, bless others, and wait for our seeking to be rewarded with fuller understanding. God will speak.
 
America's economic limp, stumble, and fall 
     The American economy is presently "limping". Many are wondering if it will heal itself and walk upright again, or if it will stumble and fall. It will stumble and fall. The economy will suffer increasingly, and those heavily invested in it will be smitten with it. The Lord is calling to His people to lift their eyes and look to the hills (Ps 121:1,2), and turn away from cultivating deep roots in the national economy. He is calling to His people to seek Him for specific guidance as to how they should prepare financially and materially. The Lord is our Keeper and our Shade. He will not allow the hot sun or dim moonlight of the degenerating dollar to smite His faithful ones by day or night. 
     One way He is dispensing protection is through a unified prophetic warning coming from all sides. Listen to what the Spirit is saying Christians! Do not be proud, self-deceived, or dig your heels in at such a time like this. Do your own spiritual research, and ask the Lord to preview the coming season for you personally. Here are some protective specifics the Lord has given me: 
 
(1) The credit card ship will sink 
     As things worsen in the broader economy, the card companies will grow increasingly restless, and therefore, increasingly hostile toward their debtors. They will lose masses and masses of money as millions are unable to repay. 
     God's window of preparatory grace will continue to be open for the remainder of this year. Therefore, He is calling and enabling His people to pay off their card debts and withdraw them from card entanglements. Expect punctual financial supply lines to open this year for the faithful, to banish debt and lay up for the years ahead. Capitalize on this year's grace, sacrifice financially, distribute wisely, develop a storehouse, and deliver yourself from this sinking ship!
     (NOTE: I am not speaking for or against credit usage. I am prophetically declaring, however, that the American credit ship will sink, and the Lord is calling His beloved to deliver themselves before it does.)
 
(2) Many will move their money to off-shore accounts
     Many, especially the wealthy, will move their money to off-shore accounts. Some will do so by natural motivations, as they observe the economic limp getting worse. Some will do so spiritually, as they sense the Spirit nudging them to do so. Many preferred customers at key banks will withdraw their funds, and the domino-effect will hit. Bank mismanagement will further wound the economy, and further push customers into foreign accounts. By virtue of their partnership, the banks will feel every blow the credit system receives.
     Obviously the Lord will not lead every believer to an off-shore account; He has a unique purpose for each one of us. I cannot overstress how each individual Christian must seek, hear, and follow exactly what the Lord is saying to them. Find your spiritual purpose in America's coming seasons. I am simply disclosing major happenings the Lord has illuminated to me--it is your job to get your own confirmation and find your own place in all of it.
 
(3) Four commodities must be attained now: land, houses, transportation, and buildings 
     There is a profound spiritual chess match going on right now for four commodities in America: land, homes, transportation, and buildings. The chess match will intensify. The possessor and occupier of these four will determine America's course for the next 10 years. On a smaller scale, whoever possesses and occupies these things will control neighborhoods, cities, and regions.
     Cash money will mean very little next to these four. Millions of dollars in a bank will pale in comparison to these commodities. Why? Because of the crisis, people will halt their selling and the economic cycle will retard drastically. They will hold on to their lands, houses, transportation, and buildings for fear of destitution. This will render millions and millions of dollars totally useless! Christians, be warned and be preserved! Ask the Lord for wise purchases of these four...and when He leads you, act! God will set great deals and prices before His faithful ones. Perceive and purchase because the deals will close quickly. Perceive and purchase!
     These four Christianized commodities will help protect and provide for those who are poor and in need. The Lord will use the wealthy saints to look out for the others. This is why it is crucial--crucial--that every born-again believer, especially the poor, be firmly connected to a good Bible-believing, Spirit-filled church. This is where God's protection and provision will be for coming days.
     You may say, how can we take neighborhoods, cities, regions...nations? You see, in a crisis, whoever has the solution is in charge. Joseph was put in charge of Egypt because he had a solution for the coming famine. Daniel led Nebuchadnezzar and much of Babylon to salvation because he had a solution to the king's dream. David was put in charge of a thousand soldiers because he had a solution to the Goliath-problem (1Sam 18:13). In the same way, God will place His Christians in driver-seats everywhere as we have practical solutions to the economic crisis--lands to grow food, houses to hold people, transportation to move around, and buildings to organize efforts. Then people will want to hear about this very smart God we serve who prepares His people in advance! 
 
(4) Sports will be God's greatest vehicle in the coming crisis
     To all Christians who are athletically talented, get ready! Sports will not fade out during this time, they will increase. Americans in amazing numbers will look to sports as their "outlet" from the difficulties, even beyond film and television. Those who formerly cared little about sports will find activities and teams to attach to. The Lord foresees this. In fact, He is the One driving them there. There, at the practices and games, in the locker rooms and pre-game meals, at the dinner parties and grill-outs, many athletes and spectators will hear of Christ, be saved, and be changed. Therefore, He is preparing and sending many Spirit-filled Christians into the sports arena as this crisis accelerates. Many Christian athletes who thought their playing days were over will feel a fresh wind of power fill their muscles and skills to take Christ to the sports world.    
  
(5) The Lord says, "Do not look to Europe!"
     Many Americans even now are turning away and lifting their sights to Europe. Many are investigating financial possibilities and investments there. Some are looking to relocate there. Listen to the word of the Lord concerning this:
 
"Do not do it! The euro is deceptive, it will prove to be a snare. Look to me, and look to where my ark is moving to rest and follow me there. I know you have turned away from this nation. I know you are looking for another place. Did I not provide a place for Abraham my servant? Did I not have a land for Joseph? Will I not search out a good resting place for you? Seek my face and listen to my voice, and I will lead you to the still waters that you seek. The waters of Europe are deceptive, turn away! You know not where you step. I will show you a place I have searched out for you."
 
 
May the church rise up with great power, wisdom, and resource to be all that America needs to lead her to Christ.

The Clash of Denominations (Feb 6, 2008)

     The time is coming when Christian denominations in America will clash. Bible-believing and Bible-practicing denominations, organizations, movements, and churches will advance upon those that have/are defecting from the true biblical faith. There will be a pursuit in an attempt to recover and redeem, and where recovery is not possible, there will be a relinquishing of these groups to a state of apostasy. Some of these groups will resist and retaliate, while others will be won over gloriously. Watch for unusually bold and unprecedented initiatives, projects, policies, actions, and statements from biblical denominations to confront foundational heresy and apostasy. Listen for the clashing of the swords! It is coming!

THE CLASHING AND THE MEDIA  Much of this clashing will be played out in the media. The Lord desires that this be public, and why? Because the interest of many unchurched people will be awakened as to the meaning of "true Christianity". They will watch and listen. They will think and reflect. They will dialogue with friends and co-workers. Then...they will search. In their searching they will find and be found. Some will go to church for the first time in years, and there be intercepted by the Holy Spirit. Some will open their dusty, unused Bibles, and there God will appear with a timely personal verse. Some will call a trusted Christian friend, and there God will befriend them into the kingdom. He will use this coming denominational collision to reveal Himself "to those who did not ask for Him" (Isa 65:1, Ro 10:20)..........The average unchurched American is not literate in what defines a biblical versus unbiblical Christian denomination. And since they will not invest time and energy investigating the topic, God is bringing the truths and facts right into their own home! The Holy Spirit will hijack the media for a season as TV, radio, newspapers, and magazines will unfold this denominational drama to every home in America. God is zealously and shrewdly pursuing souls as the clock ticks closer and closer to the end of the age..........Many in the media will snidely think they are publicizing strife and division in the church. Their reporting will exude an aroma of triumph. But oh how tricked they will be! Rather, God is borrowing their communication systems to publicly sift and tag apostasizing groups and publicly define true biblical Christianity! The media will soon be suckered and booby-trapped by the Spirit. As crafty as the media thinks it is, God is craftier. He relishes the chess-match of those wise in their own eyes: To the crooked you show yourself shrewd (Ps 18:26)...He catches the wise in their craftiness (1Co 3:19). How the media will show the works of God in coming days.

THE MELTING OF DENOMINATIONS  As I said, some will interpret the clash as "strife" and "disunity" within the church. This is not the perspective of God. He is unsheathing a sword to drive out apostate squatters from His beautiful land, recover and redeem the willing, and stimulate unity among remnant denominations. Believe it or not, these remnant denominations will melt their walls and unify, for the essence of authentic biblical Christianity in America will be at stake. Christians will see strange happenings as opposite-fence denominational leaders advance together. Trans-denominational worship times, prayer gatherings, outreach efforts, and other kingdom endeavors will increase greatly. Two key leaders will break open the way and the others will follow. Some will even say, "A movement to end denominations has begun! Could it be? Surely we are seeing strange things in our day."..........In time, the outside world will see that this clash only served to consolidate the true church. They will be confounded, then convicted, then drawn in great numbers into the church. Jesus' words in John 17:23 will be experienced in awesome ways.   

THE BAPTIST DENOMINATIONS WILL BE VINDICATED  The Baptist denominations, generally known as champions of biblical authority and sufficiency, will be vindicated. As the threat of apostasy grows with the ending of the age, many denominations will lean towards their Baptist brothers. Not only will this consolidate the numerical force of staunch Bible guardians, it will also blow in a fresh wind of the Spirit into the Baptist culture. Many non-Baptist Christians will transfer into Baptist churches, bringing with them a broader kingdom experience that will enlarge the Baptist wineskin. Baptist churches and organizations will see revival in many places, ways, and dimensions. They will enjoy that long-awaited marriage between Scripture and Spirit, between exegesis and experience.

THE METHODISTS AND PENTECOSTALS WILL FORM POWERFUL ALLIANCES  The Methodists and Pentecostals will draw close to each other. They will form incredibly powerful alliances that will make long-standing, highly-exalted principalities stand up and notice. Satan himself will turn his head and shift his battle-front. Fear will engulf the enemy's upper management as major ancient strongholds are scheduled for demise at the hands of these alliances. Lofty demonic thrones that never thought they would be dislodged will be overthrown quickly, in some cases in a single day. The enemy will always be back-peddling before these divine alliances. They will not and cannot be stopped, for they are central to God's last-days victorious church. They will accelerate Isaiah 2:2's fulfillment...........A revolving door will be set up between the two houses, much like the doors that connect two adjacent hotel rooms. The Lord is re-establishing the borders of each denomination, and they will include one another. Visions will be joined. Ideas will be shared. Resources will be pooled. Anointings will be doubled. Trust will seem to come easy, as the typical "ministry suspicions" are divinely kept at bay and withheld. A strong Samson is rising to his feet--one foot is Methodism, the other Pentecostalism. A two-edged sword is being prepared against the enemy--one side is Methodism, the other Pentecostalism.

PURIFICATION IN CERTAIN PENTECOSTAL GROUPS  Certain Pentecostal groups and sub-groups will experience purification. Sensitive information and inappropriate agendas will be exposed publicly, causing many to leave their churches and affiliations. Unbiblical Pentecostal splinters will be pursued in a recovery effort; some will resist and be tagged as apostate, while others will be redeemed and re-grafted into the Bible-based Pentecostal tree..........The Pentecostal tree will remain strong, as solid "root" leaders lead the way in rectification. Powerful voices of temperance will emerge, and the consensus will follow their voices. Because of these things, Pentecostalism as a whole will be slightly rearranged and reordered. Clearer lines will distinguish biblical groups from drifting ones. Tougher safeguards and accountability measures will be implemented; this will cause "free-floaters" and "accountable-to-no-ones" to flee and form underground pockets. Though some will join them, their folly will not go far and their false energy will die out quickly...........Prophetic "schools", training centers, and developmental initiatives will be a major part of the reforms. The prophetically seasoned and reliable will take greater involvement in developing the less experienced prophesiers. They will address and deal with the growing number of prophetic, but novice, Christians attempting to use their gift. Because of this, we will see an expansion of healthy and accurate prophesiers. Authentic prophecy will regain important ground and credibility..........In years to come, the "prophetic movement" as it is now known will lose steam. The reforms within Pentecostalism will draw its constituency away into much soul-searching and truth-searching. A purer and more authentic prophetic ministry will result. This will produce noticeable progress and unity among Pentecostal denominations............Put simply, the Lord's purifying hand will cause Pentecostalism to run a much tighter ship. Well-known Christian media outlets like Christianity Today and Charisma Magazine and others will praise the reforms. As a result, much-needed healing will come to those wounded or offended by spiritual abuses in the movement.  

HOW CAN ALL THIS BE?  Some of these things will take place with no obvious catalyst other than God's working. However, some will happen as a result of major difficulties coming to America, especially in 2009 and beyond. Local, regional, and national crises will force truly biblical denominations to abandon their gray-area hostilities in pursuit of a higher purpose. That purpose being, the contention for biblical Christianity in America (Jude 3). Gladly, denominational leaders will join forces to protect, preserve, and prosper what's most important to us Christians: one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God (Eph 4:4-6).                   

Prophetic Word for Nigeria (Jan 10, 2008)

A new Nigeria will bloom like a flower  Do you see the nation of Nigeria now? It will be different. A new Nigeria will bloom like a flower in West Africa. Great, great changes are coming to this nation. It is a nation that has been abundantly endowed, yet starkly under-achieving. Like a flower that hasn't blossomed, Nigeria has been stifled and suppressed.   

     However, the days are coming when a new Nigeria will materialize. God will wipe away her shame, cut away her reproach, and make her the glory of Africa. In some ways she will outshine some of the greatest nations on the earth.
     The Lord says, "Watch the flower! Watch the flower! Watch as I tend this flower, making her the most beautiful in all the meadows of Africa. Have I not set my hand upon her? Is she not mine? You will see the glory of Nigeria as I visit my people there."
 
Nigeria, the gates of Africa  Nigeria will be the gates of the African continent in days to come. Malicious spiritual forces strategizing against the continent will have to contend first with the church of Nigeria. Similarly, what the Lord accomplishes in Nigeria will overflow to the rest of the continent. She is not yet in her destiny as Africa's gates. However, the ball of God is picking up speed to get her in place soon.
     Once she is in place, a tremendous victory will have been won by the African church. A deafening blow will be delivered to African Islam, leaving it severely crippled and limping. Evangelism will reach amazing levels of success. Church growth will be free-flowing and seem easy. Ministry schools will pop up everywhere. Doors will open rapidly to other African nations. Nigeria is critical in God's program. She must pursue, overcome, and recover the nation, establishing her in her purpose. 
     "Will I not accomplish this?" declares the Lord. "Do I promise and not fulfill? Do I speak and then not act? Do not be afraid, my people, for I am coming. I am coming to visit your land, to walk on your shores, and deliver you to your purpose. Will I not give you leaders that will take you there? Will I not send you my servants to fulfill all your purpose? Do not be afraid, that which I have spoken I will fulfill. I will carry you on the wings of eagles until you come to your resting place."
 
Watch the government  Some time ago, Catherine Brown (Gatekeepers Global Ministries) and Obii Pax-Harry (Arise! Missions) prophesied concerning Nigeria. Below is a portion of the vision Catherine received. Afterwards, I will prophetically comment.
 
     (begin quote) "The vision then proceeded to a third and final scene in which I saw a building bearing the words 'Nigerian Consulate.' We went up the steps of this building with angels on either side of us and a banner over us which read 'ambassadorial.' We were no longer dusty or tired looking, but were smartly dressed with a spring in our step. We walked into the building and met with a kindly looking official. He was so glad to receive the gemstones which we deposited with him. I am certain this man was a man of God because of his demeanor of humility and uprightness. It seemed he knew what to do with the precious stones. The deposit of the gemstones speaks of a proclamation and impartation of the Heavenly revelation we have received for the nation.
     Upon exiting the building, a deep crevice appeared on the stairs as we descended. The crevice fanned out from the steps and the earth began to open up with an earthquake...I am not certain at this stage whether the earthquake speaks of a spiritual seismic shift or if it will also have ramifications in the natural..." (end quote) 
 
     After reading and rereading the word the ladies gave, the Spirit zeroed in on this specific portion and opened its meaning to me. Catherine is right on-target that their deposit of gemstones to the government official represents the deposit of spiritual treasures--treasures of heavenly knowledge, wisdom, and revelation (Pr 24:4, Isa 33:6, Col 2:3).
     Watch the government  This vision also speaks of coming "earthquakes" in the Nigerian government. Notice the building bore the words Nigerian Consulate...this represents government. Notice the earthquake happened on the steps of the government building...this represents major upheaval/change coming to the Nigerian government. Notice the earthquake happened after the ladies deposited the treasures...this represents major upheaval/change coming to Nigeria's government only after certain government officials receive anointed ministry.
     These coming governmental upheavals/changes in Nigeria are necessary and divine. The governmental "earthquake" must happen so that corrupt leaders and agendas can be vacated, and God's politicians can move in. There are leaders in the Nigerian government that are (and will be) receptive to anointed ministry, like the man in the vision. Those leaders must be identified, targeted, and ministered to. Just like in the vision, they will in turn take the ministry they have received and start shaking the government--they will cause the earthquake. They will cause the shaking and shifting because of their political stand, their righteous agenda, their heavenly wisdom, and so on. The enemy will act, react, and overrreact, causing the government to polarize and split into an earthquake.
     Watch Nigeria's government! As more and more anointed ministers deposit spiritual treasures into government officials, the result will be a political earthquake. These governmental upheavals and changes are necessary so God's people can capitalize on the chaos, occupy political power, and redirect the nation into her destiny.
     The Lord says, "Watch as I shake this structure loose. Watch me invade Nigeria's government with my purpose. Watch me position my people on the high places. Lift up your eyes and see me show myself strong in the politics of this nation. Dagon will topple. The ruling heads will fall and be broken. The corrupt leaders of this nation will not stand before the ark of my presence when it invades the government."
 
The people are groaning  Proverbs 29:2 (NIV, emp added): When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people GROAN. There is a groan deep in the inner recesses of Nigeria's soul. It is a groan for the righteous to come to national power. It is a groan for the sons and daughters of God to possess the high places of leadership and authority. It is a groan for the wicked, corrupt leaders to be toppled and replaced. All you who have ears, listen to the groans! Listen and listen well!
     Which of you Nigerian Christians have been called to leadership, in any arena? Where are the godly politicians? Where are the godly department chairmans? Where are the godly civic leaders? Where are the godly actors, singers, and entertainers? Where are the godly athletes? Hear the word of the Lord Nigerian Christians! Pursue and possess your high place! Take your mountain! Get in the driver's seat! Recover your land! Recover your people! Recover your nation's future! Steer her into her destiny! Advance and possess the land! End the groaning in Nigeria's soul!
 
Northern Nigeria must be possessed and secured...the sharia structure will collapse  The set time has come for the demise to begin of the sharia structure in northern Nigeria. (The sharia is the body of Islamic religious law.) Northern Nigeria is controlled and governed by the sharia, causing many problems for the Christians who live there. Christians have been persecuted, oppressed, and killed by decapitation. Church meetingplaces have been seized and burned. They cannot worship freely and are forced to renounce Christ under threat of death.
     The Lord says, "Have I not seen these things? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? I am not dealing with you as I dealt with my people Israel when I brought them out of Egypt. I am not bringing you out, I am bringing you in. I am bringing you in to the places and positions that will redefine northern Nigeria. I am causing key sharia leaders to topple and be removed. Yes, I, even I, am the one who will move my hand against them. When these things start to take place, rejoice, because the shape of your region is being reformed, yes, by my hand. A foreign army will not do this, but my own hand. When these things begin to take place, move in and occupy the land. You will not be displaced, but the evil structures that are making you afraid will be demolished. They will collapse. I am bringing a new order to northern Nigeria."
 
     A change of anointing for northern Nigerian Christians The grace of matyrdom is beginning to be retracted back to heaven from the northern Nigerian Christians. This anointing was necessary for a time due to the severe persecutions and killings. However, there is a change of anointing coming. It is the anointing of unusual intercession. Hear me saints in northern Nigeria! God is gracing you to conquer and possess your region through unusual intercession. He is awakening and aligning all the watchmen and intercessors. This must be for northern Nigeria and all of Nigeria to be secured. 40 days If you will consecrate 40 days of fasting and intercession, the sharia structure will begin to crack, break, give way, and fall. God will move His hand dramatically in response. You will accelerate this word's fulfillment. You will possess and secure northern Nigeria and launch a new order in the region.
     All Nigerian Christians, help your brothers! See Joshua 1:12-15. Reuben, Gad, and Manasseh were under obligation to fight with their brothers and help them conquer their promised land. They were to help them conquer the land and find rest, just as they had done on this side of the Jordan. All Nigerian Christians, fight for your brothers in Christ in the north! Join them in unsual intercession, in a 40 day fast, that this Islamic giant harming our brethren be destroyed! Fight the battle of the Lord and tear down this stronghold! "Who will rise up for me against the wicked?" (Ps 94:16). Northern Nigeria must be secured for the nation to fulfill her destiny. All the watchmen and intercessors must awake, align, and watch over this word's fulfillment through 40 days of fasting and intercession.
     It is weak and faltering internally The Lord revealed that the sharia system in northern Nigeria is weak and faltering from the inside. In other words, it may appear overpowering and dominating from the outside, from its use of persecutive force, but in reality it is not strong. There is internal strife threatening to crumble the whole system by itself. It is already tottering, though the typical Christian there may not know it. Listen to what the Lord is revealing...if you attack it in the Spirit through fasting and intercession it will fall. It is weak and faltering internally. Our weapons are mighty in God to tear down every stronghold. Tear it down! Remove this disgrace from Nigeria (1Sam 17:26)!!! 
 
Victoria Island must be possessed and secured...her wealth must be kingdomized  Victoria Island is the main financial center of Lagos, Nigeria. It produces an enormous amount of financial traffic from businesses, commerce, and expatriates. Property investment is one of the island's most lucrative endeavors. Embassies and branches of embassies are located there.
     Whoever controls Victoria Island's economy controls a strategic portion of wealth, not necessarily because of gross figures, but because of the people traffic distributing this wealth all over Nigeria and Africa.
     The mainland of Lagos connects to Victoria Island via the Third Mainland Bridge, the longest bridge in all of West Africa. Perceive the prophetic parallel: Victoria Island is the most important spiritual bridge to all of West Africa. "Victoria" means "victory". It is literally, "Victory Island". We may not know why fully right now, but God is telling us Victoria Island is crucial in His Nigerian program. 
     He is saying, "And you Island of Victory, though you are small to behold, you are large in my eyes! I have set my desire upon you. I have set my intention upon you. You are large in my plan, and in days to come I will show you why. My people will walk on you, and you will be covered with my saints. My people will sanctify your position in Nigeria's economy."
     Her wealth must be kingdomized The Lord will send a whole host of Spirit-filled Christian entrepreneurs to this island. He will prosper them so that they come to dictate the island's financial ebb and flow. Little by little Christian businesses and business endeavors will cover the island. Christian health centers will be opened and prosper. Ministries will establish centers and branches there. Christians will litter this island and kingdomize its wealth, buildings, assets, and properties. Victoria Island will become a "missionary airport" to all Africa. Possess and secure Victoria Island! This must happen for Nigeria to enter her destiny.
 
Nigeria destined to be the "Bank of Africa"...two strongman spirits are making the economy bleed  God intends for Nigeria to be not just the spiritual provider of Africa, but the financial provider as well. Nigeria is destined in God to be the "Bank of Africa". Ever wonder why she is so abundant with resources? She is the 12th largest producer of petroleum in the world, the 8th largest exporter, and has the 10th largest proven reserves. She possesses huge amounts of natural resources like coal, tin, iron ore, limestone, niobium, zinc, lead, and arable land. She used to produce 98% of her own food, food such as groundnuts, palm oil, cocoa, coconut, citrus fruits, maize, pearl millet, cassava, yams, and sugar cane. She has a prosperous leather and textile industry.
     The enemy is not entirely stupid. He can see the seeds of destiny in a person or nation. Any perceptive Christian can look at the natural gifts and resources Nigeria has been given and surmise that she is destined to be a big financial player in God's kingdom. This is precisely why the enemy has sought to suppress this nation through two strongman spirits. And it is these two spirits the church of Nigeria must contend with and conquer for the new Nigeria to bloom.
